ScreenLine 1992-2022,
30 years looking beyond

In 1992 the patent application for the first ScreenLine system was filed, a step that paved the way to a path in which we have always looked beyond our achievements. While going over again the first thirty years of ScreenLine we renew our commitment to move along the road of seamless innovation for as many 30 years… and beyond.

ScreenLine by Pellini 1992 – 2022: the series

1992
1992

ScreenLine is born

ScreenLine originates from Francesco Pellini's idea to develop a system to operate integral blinds while keeping unaltered the characteristics of insulating glass, thus profiting from the many benefits guaranteed by absolute airtightness.

After years of research and development, this intuition turned into the patent application for the first ScreenLine system, filed in 1992.

1993
1993

From manual to motorized

Thanks to the introduction of a motorized system, since 1993 it has been possible to operate ScreenLine by means of an internal motor actuated via wall buttons.

The Serie A Football League HQ is one of the first few applications of the new system and almost thirty years later ScreenLine is still working.

1994
1994

The second patent

The corded system (C System) was patented in 1994 and allowed Pellini to become the first company in the world to completely raise an integral blind by coupling two magnets on the front side through the glass, giving ScreenLine a reputation and contributing to its success all over the world.

1998
1998

The ScreenLine licensee network is born

The ScreenLine licensee network was created in 1998. It is a wolrdwide network of production units that are able to respond quickly and competently to the needs of local markets and inspire the development of new solutions.

2003
2003

Pellini patents the first roller integral blind

In 2003 we patented an integral roller blind, a solution that made it possible to combine the benefits of Verosol metallised fabrics with the insulating properties of the double glazing unit, thus finding a new way to meet the needs of view through, privacy and comfort.

2008
2008

The battery-operated motorised blind system is introduced

The battery-operated motorised system was introduced in 2008, the innovative solution that made it possible to bring into private houses all the advantages of a motorized system without adapting the electrical system.

2009
2009

The building with the highest number of integral blinds on a façade

In 2009 in Belo Horizonte (Brazil), the Cidade Administrativa Minas Gerais (CAMG), designed by the internationally renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer, with its 22,000 blinds, is achieved with the highest number of integral blinds on a facade.

2010
2010

V95, the low-e slat

The low-e slat V95 was developed in co-operation with the most renowned european research institutes on nanotechnology: the special coating of the slat contributes to reduce solar factor and thermal transmittance values and glass temperature.

2011
2011

Pellini CZ is established

Pellini CZ was established in 2011 to increase production capacity and meet the growing demand for ScreenLine systems. The new HQ was inaugurated in 2022, 12 months after being destroyed by a tornado.

2012
2012

Warm edge spacer bar with guide

In 2012 warm edge spacer bar with guide was introduced, a solution to ensure a perfect hermetic seal and improve the thermal insulation of the profile. The combination with the V95 slat maximises the performance of the glass + shading system.

2013
2013

Brushless internal motor

Brushless motors do not contain brushes, thus being not subject to wear & tear, and are extremely silent. ScreenLine blind systems equipped with brushless motors can be integrated within building automation networks.

2014
2014

Magnetic sliding system

Sliding system was born by listening to the demand of the British market: the blind is raised/lowered and tilted by means of a magnetic slider.

2015
2015

Finglas is established

Finglas is the Pellini Group IG manufacturer that merges experience in the world of glass and shading systems. Testing new integral blinds in their natural habitat is a key element in the R&D process.

2020
2020

W Smart, the new battery-operated system

Suitable for all types of windows, even existing ones, without the need for hard wiring. The design and engineering of the product, as well as the assembling of all components, are made in Italy.

We keep on looking beyond

New application and control options for motorised blind systems and a shading solution expressly developed for integral blinds We are paving the way one more time and we want to keep innovating for as many 30 years… and beyond.

ScreenLine by Pellini 1992 – 2022: the series

We went over again 30 years of ScreenLine history, development and application and talked about future challenges and projects, from today we are pleased to share all this with you.

From the idea of developing an integral blind to its success all over the world, from the tests of the first magnetic system carried out in a basement in the late 80's to how we support designers to apply ScreenLine in any kind of building.

Francesco and Alessandro Pellini, Giovanni Nicolosi, Luca Papaiz, Paolo Durante and Sara Novara are the main characters of this series that goes over again 30 years of development and application and introduces future challenges and projects.
